Scott and Kristen Henton

Scott and Kristen opened The Training Method on January 1st, 2013. They both have a passion for helping their members be a little better everyday through health, fitness, and wellness, and they have spent over a decade serving them daily both in and out of the gym. They have always had the mission to serve people first and develop a culture within the gym that is welcoming, encouraging, and intentional. Their focus is community and their specialty is producing a quality, coach led training program to keep their members fit.

Our coaches

Scott

Scott has been the co-owner with his wife, Kristen, and head coach of The Training Method since day one. He has been a fitness enthusiast for most of his adult life, but really made it a priority in 2011. Scott has a passion for living a healthy lifestyle and has been committed to sharing that passion with each of his members for a decade. His top priority is to work closely with each of his members to help them accomplish any particular fitness goals they may have. He is a natural leader and has a gift for teaching movement in a way that all can understand. His degree in Health and Kinesiology along with his experience and background in sports and fitness is what first led him into coaching. Scott enjoys spending time with his four boys and wife, exercising, cycling, hunting and fishing, and just being outdoors whenever possible.

Kristen

Kristen, co-owner and head coach has been involved in coaching since 2008, first as a high school sports coach and then as a fitness professional a few years later. She has a BFA in Studio Art where she also was a four year starter for the UTTyler Patriot softball team.  She is an avid learner who continues to grow her professional knowledge on how to help people move often, move well, and move in a variety of ways. Not only is she a full time gym owner, but she is a pregnancy and postpartum athleticism coach as well. In addition to group training, she also coaches women one-on-one. Kristen has a passion for helping people and works hard to meet each individual where they are while gently nudging them to reach their full potential. She holds a special place for all moms and moms to be, to keep them healthy, strong, and safe during these important and ever changing seasons of their lives through specific strategy, considerations, and intentional programming. Kristen enjoys being a mother to her four beautiful boys most, but also enjoys exercising, playing various sports whenever possible, creating art, and cooking. She hopes to inspire all of her members to live their best life with enthusiasm, confidence, and discipline.

Michael

Michael was born and raised in Longview and graduated from Spring Hill High School in 2004, where he participated in numerous sports including football, track, and powerlifting. He proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps for six years. He is a graduate of LeTourneau University with a bachelor’s in Business Management. Michael is currently a police officer with the Longview Police Department. He is happily married to his wife, Jacqueline, and they have two beautiful daughters Aubrey and Avery. He has been a member of The Training Method for close to a decade and has served as a vital member of our coaching staff for 5 years, including the head coach of our Training Method Kids Program. Michael loves coaching and is an amazing motivator and encourager to each member. He takes pride in helping each person move well and stay fit. Aside from training, Michael enjoys spending time with his family and being outdoors. We have been very blessed to have him as an important member of our coaching staff for so many years.

Jason

Jason grew up in East Texas and attended White Oak High School. He and his beautiful wife, Tosha, have 5 children and one grandbaby on the way. Jason has been a committed member of The Training Method for over 6 years, and has been a part of our coaching staff for over a year. Helping people is a passion of his, and he does so with enthusiasm, positivity, and loads of energy. We like to call him our ultimate “hype” man. Jason is one of those people whose presence just makes you better. He loves music, so it is no surprise to find him getting down to his favorite songs during classes. He also has a passion for baseball and enjoys playing catch with either his own kids or our Training Method kids whenever he has the chance. We are very fortunate to have such a committed coach like Jason as an important part of our Training Method coaching staff and community.
